Daddy

I dreamt of my Dad the other day, I have forgotten what it was all about and until now I keep thinking of what he was trying to tell me. I do not remember having dreams about him after he passed away and so it must be pretty important for him to now be talking to me in my dream. This February will be his 3rd death anniversary.

I had my Mom send me his old pictures because I know they would be badly damaged in storage, if not by water then by termites. They were waiting to get scanned until I had that dream, and now I am just guessing that he wanted me to just finish his album before his anniversary. I am still trying to learn to fix small imperfections like creases, tears and stains through Photoshop. I guess if the picture was badly taken in the first place there is really nothing much you can do. The picture above is how I always think of my Dad, an avid golfer. He even had a medal that said he beat Ben Arda, a Filipino golfing legend. Among his kids I am the only one who ever took up the sport, and even introduced my husband to it. I miss you Daddy, if it’s not the pictures come visit me in my dreams again sometime soon.

  1. Hi, I came to your Blog via your Flickr account (I was browsing embroidery patterns for baby clothing).
I’ve just read your entry on your father and thought it was very special and endearing. I loved the way you ended it; I too, believe that our beloved deceased ones come to visit us in our dreams when they have something to tell us…
I do not have a blog, but you can find me at my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sonia_luisa/).
